Please note that this is only cute if neither of you is allergic to poppies.
Hey, ontarom i do believe you have just successfully destroyed every feel in my body with this one image and here’s why:
Red poppies. Of all things, red poppies. Do you know what red poppies are more commonly used for? War memorials such as the ANZAC ceremonies in Australia, where people wear red poppies to show respect for those who died in conflict. Why the red poppy though? Because in the places where fighting/dying occurred such as the trenches during WW1, the soil became so disturbed that nothing could really grow on it, except for poppies (hence they name poppy because they just ‘pop up’). Symbolically, its a sign of peaceful sleep or death. Hence they’re worn for the purpose of remembering dead soldiers.
Here we have a picture of Sniper and Scout standing in a field of red poppies. Everything looks so peaceful and relaxed. Maybe the war is over and amongst all the hardships they faced, something blossoms between them.
Which bring me to the question as to why they’re still in uniform. But then again… poppies grow where there has been war and poppies symbolise remembrance of the dead.
So i draw to this conclusion: Sniper and Scout are dead.
Maybe they died with each other and now live forever in a field of bright red poppies. Standing together in the calm as ghostly lovers. Because who needs the afterlife when you already have each other?
Thank you ontarom, thank you.
